Dr. Eliad Peretz has won the NASA Medal for his outstanding achievements

The Israeli researcher who graduated from the Technion has held a variety of senior positions in the US space agency over the past decade

Dr. Eliad Peretz received the Space Agency Medal from NASA today (Tuesday) for outstanding achievements, following his significant impact on many space missions. Dr. Peretz, a graduate of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion, is an Israeli researcher who serves as the Chief Mission and Instrument Scientist in the Solar Research Division at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Washington. 
 
Over the past decade, Peretz has held a variety of senior positions at NASA, including as a mission scientist under astrophysicist and Nobel laureate John Mather, who is the chief scientist of the James Webb Space Telescope. As part of his duties at NASA, Peretz was responsible for identifying the scientific challenges and the technologies required to crack them, as well as planning many scientific space missions. 
 
Peretz was born in 1982 to parents who immigrated to Israel from Morocco and the United Kingdom, and has been living in Silver Springs, Maryland, USA. The NASA medal for outstanding achievement, one of the American space agency’s highest awards, was awarded to Peretz by John Mather, and the ceremony was produced by the Technion Association. Peretz is also active in the Horizon community, the Israel Space Agency's community of educators, and has taken part in a number of the community's educational initiatives. The Israel Space Agency is proud and congratulates him on his extraordinary achievements.
